So, in about 2 weeks my wife Sara and I are heading to Japan. We will be there for about 3 months, meeting with knife makers and stone companies. Also, i will be learning more about knife sharpening from a knife sharpener while i am there. Over the 3 months we are there, we will be meeting with around 25-30 companies, trying to find new and interesting products to bring you. During this time, we will continue to operate the business normally. Our stock in LA will still ship from LA. But while we are there, we will be picking up new products all of the time, and we will add those to the website too. Those products will ship directly from Japan to you. For those of you that have placed special orders or custom order with us, if they are ready when we are in Japan, we will ship directly to you from there. Throughout our trip we will be updating our blog with pictures and information about the makers and other companies will be meeting with. Also, we will put up our Skype number for you guys to reach us at if you have any questions you would like to speak with us about. We will be answering e-mails throughout our trip. If you have questions you'd like to ask some of the Japanese makers, please let us know. We've got some really cool meetings lined up and we'll be telling you about them soon enough (we'll try to give you guys a bit of a heads up so you can direct questions to specific makers/people if you choose). On a separate note, i'm pretty stoked for this trip. I get to spend time with my wife's family, visit the restaurant i used to work at, see lots of old friends, and eat tons of great food. Also, i get to play around with my new camera gear (i bought a 60mm 2.8 macro lens and a 30mm 1.4 lens to go with my canon T1i). So keep you eyes open because the trip starts in a little over 2 weeks. -Jon
