How’s it going?
We’ve got lots of new things going on here at Japanese Knife Imports.
Sara and I will be spending the next three months traveling all over Japan meeting new knife makers and stone companies.
During that time, I will also be training under some sharpening experts to help improve my sharpening.
For those of you who are worried about changes in our shipping, fear not!
We continue to ship our existing inventory from LA while we are gone…
with one small exception… we will be taking down the sharpening stones from the website.
The reason we are taking down the stones is that they can be difficult to ship and sometimes can be damaged in transit, and we will not be here to deal with those issues.
We are very sorry for the inconvenience.
If you are interested in ordering any of the stones we currently have listed on the website, please do so sooner rather than later.
(tomorrow) will be the last day they will be up on the website.
While we are in Japan, we will be picking up all kinds of fun new things.
We will list these for sale on our website as they become available and will ship them directly from Japan.
Expect to see all kinds of things from knives to stones, and all kinds of various accessories.
Also, while we are in Japan we will be blogging about our meetings with different makers and companies, so keep an eye on our blog for more frequent updates.
If possible we will try to notify you of some of our meeting a few days in advance so you can send in questions you may have for those makers.
During our trip will be in a variety of places including Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Echizen, Tosa, Yamagata, and Sanjo, just to name a few.
If you have questions about any of these places, shoot us an e-mail and we’ll do our best to answer.
During our tip we be reached by either e-mail (Jon@JapaneseKnifeImports.com
) or phone.
Our US phone number will be forwarded to our international number… we thought this would make is easier for people to reach us.
We also have a Skype account on which we can be reached (Skype name- JBroida).
So keep your eyes open for all kinds of new things… we leave in 4 days!!!
