Canarywood (Centrolobium spp.) is an exotic hardwood native to Central and South America, found from Panama down through Brazil. While its name suggests a uniform golden yellow, its color range can span warm reds, oranges, and purples that gradually blend into a soft, canary-like yellow over time. Known for its fine texture and excellent workability, Canarywood also boasts impressive acoustic qualities, making it a favorite for crafting speakers, musical instruments, and other audio equipment. Its striking color and durability make it equally well-suited for fine furniture and decorative pieces.
These knife racks are handcrafted by our friend Steve Preeg in Murrieta, California. Please note that they are made from natural materials, and while Steve works each piece to near perfection, variations such as natural inclusions, small blemishes, and unique grain patterns are to be expected and are part of their character.
