The Japanese word for chopsticks is hashi (箸). These offer the elegant look and weight of natural hardwood but are reinforced with resin. Traditional wooden chopsticks can warp, crack, or absorb bacteria over time. The resin-infused layers of pakkawood make them virtually waterproof and much more hygienic.
