- Orders placed Monday-Wednesday and Friday before 2PM PST will begin processing that day (excluding holidays and store closures).
- Orders placed after 2PM PST will begin processing the next business day (excluding holidays and store closures).
- Orders placed after 2PM PST on Friday will begin processing the following Monday (excluding holidays and store closures).
Orders are shipped on business days only. Our business days are Monday-Wednesday and Friday, excluding national holidays within the united states and other circumstances which cause store closures. Shipping most often occurs on the same day the order is placed. Processing may take up to 48 hours depending on when the order was placed.
We are more than happy to take your order by phone. If ordering by phone, please contact us between 11am-6pm, Monday-Wednesday, and Friday or 12pm-5pm on Saturday or Sunday. In Store: Come visit us at our storefront: 8642 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills, CA 90211.
We reserve the right to refuse business to anyone.
- Sales Tax
Sales tax will apply to all orders purchased and/or shipped in California. For orders outside of California, you may be responsible for use tax in your own state.
- International Customers
International customers may order online using PayPal. International shipping charges will apply. International shipping charges will be calculated on a per-order basis and will be billed separately through PayPal. Please contact us for an International Shipping Estimate prior to placing an order with us.
By placing an order for items to be shipped internationally, you are accepting our International Shipping Estimate as the official shipping cost. All shipping fees must be collected prior to the item(s) shipping. Customers placing orders to be shipped internationally take all responsibility for any customs and/or duties associated with their shipment.
Due to differences in shipping regulations, methods, and other factors, we cannot be held responsible for the safety of international packages. By placing an order to be shipped internationally, you, the customer, take full responsibility for your shipment and its contents (loss, damage, theft, etc.). We ship most international orders via DHL.
In some cases, there may be delays with international shipments due to unforseen circumstances beyond our control. In these cases, we ask that you give us 30 days to work with the various involved postal companies. We have a great success rate for retreving packages.
- Custom Fees
If you wish a product to be shipped to an address outside the United States, you are responsible for all customs fees and taxes.
All domestic orders are shipped using USPS Priority mail unless otherwise noted. If you would prefer to use a different shipping method, please contact us by e-mail at the time of your order. When using Pay Pal, we will only ship to confirmed addresses, as listed in the Pay Pal Payment Details.
The Pay Pal address and the address you input into our ordering system MUST MATCH in order for us to be able to ship to you. If they do not match, we will refund your order and ask you to process it again, ensuring that the addresses match.
Images presented on our website may not represent the actual products we have for sale, and are provided as a visual aid to show the general types of products we carry. They are not necessarily pictures of the knife you will receive if you order from us. Not all of the items included in each image are included in each sale.
- Breakage or Discrepancies
If your order arrives and you are unhappy or there is a problem, please notify us within 48 hours of receipt of shipment. Japanese Knife Imports, Inc. cannot be responsible for claims made after 48 hours. For breakage resulting from carrier transit, please keep the entirety of original item(s) as well as all packaging and packing materials for inspection by the carrier. We can not be responsible for damage due to misuse, improper care, poor technique, mistakes in use or sharpening, or any other type of damage resulting from user error.
No exchanges or returns will be accepted without receipt, or after 14 days from original date of delivery.
Merchandise can only be returned if it is in its original condition and packaging.
- If upon return, items are found to be damaged, they will not be accepted or credited.
- Please send all items for return via either insured USPS mail with return Receipt, or insured UPS or Federal Express shipping.
- Placing an order indicates your acceptance of our return policy.
- Blades sharpened by Japanese Knife Imports at the customers request, left handed knives, or custom orders are not eligible for return or exchange.
- Blades damaged by misuse, improper care, poor technique, mistakes in use or sharpening, or any other type of damage resulting from user error are not eligible for return, exchange, or refund.
- There is a 10% restocking fee for returned items

- Special Oders / Custom Orders
For special orders of any product we carry, but don’t currently have in stock, we require payment for 1/2 the total amount for the order at the time of the order. The remaining 1/2 must be paid within 14 days of notification and prior to the product being shipped to you.
For custom orders or special orders of products we don’t normally carry, we require payment for 2/3 the total amount of the order at the time of the order. The remaining 1/3 must be paid within 14 days of notification and prior to the product being shipped to you.
Special orders cannot be canceled once the order is placed. If a special order has been made but the customer has not paid the final invoice for the remaining amount within 45 days of receipt of the final invoice, the initial payment/payments are considered forfeited and the knife may be sold to another customer. If the customer decides to not go through with the order once the knives have been orderd from the maker, the initial payment will be forfeited.
Special orders generally take between 2 and 4 months, though we can not guarantee a timeframe. There are times when orders may take longer or arrive more quickly than expected.
