Japanese Knife Imports will be closed on Monday Sept. 1st for Labor Day

Zakuri

Zakuri is a collaboration between a few Tosa blacksmiths.  The Tosa region has long been known for knife making, but their history is in forestry tools.  One of the things they have done well is keeping younger craftsmen involved in the community.  They work primarily with blue steels.  We tend to carry knives in blue #1 and Blue Super.  We have both kurouchi and migaki (polished) knives from them with a variety of handles.  These knives are a bit rustic, but are great performers, ranging from very thin and light to mighty and beastly, and everything in between.  We also do custom and special orders with them from time to time.
